Doudou Huang’s music creation involves chorus combined with instrumental music. This paper takes the creation of poems and songs as the basis, with elegant style and long lasting charm. Since the Book of Poetry is the first collection of poems in ancient China, it is possible to reveal the true, good, and the beauty of harmony contained in the Book of Songs by virtue of its texts, as well as to explore its inherent meaning and develop Chinese traditional music in the light of the cultural artistic conception presented in the Book of Songs.

Research Basis and Significance

The overall purpose of this paper is to elaborate the breakthrough music design through the solo and chorus form of the Suite created by Chinese composer Huang Doudou according to the Book of Songs, and to lead to the birth of the poem-chorus song and to open a new chapter in which the sound and acoustics are the dominant structure to control writing. At the same time, in conjunction with the children’s choir, to participate in Doudou Huang’s works together to interpret his music style. This study will provide theoretical basis and empirical guidance for Chinese conductors, composers, chorus, people’s orchestras, choirs, actors to create and perform such music works, so as to achieve greater results in practice, make Chinese and even the world’s audiences more aware of the music style of Chinese Book of Songs, and promote the presentation of exchanged music between China and the West.
The composer took Chinese national music as the material and relied on Chinese classical culture to make unremitting exploration for the promotion of national music culture. They not only merge Chinese classical poem literature with Chinese traditional music language and modern music creation techniques to form an ancient and fragrant chorus form with classical features and styles, but also create a chorus with the characteristics of innovation and progress based on the excellent national music and cultural resources while imitating and drawing lessons from the western art song creation techniques. The chorus of ancient songs with national characteristics not only plays an important role in the promotion of multi-voice chorus in China, but also opens up a new path for the protection and inheritance of traditional music and cultural resources.
The significance of Confucius lies in reminding us of the inheritance of the thoughts and spirits of the ancient sages, which is the basis of our inner strength and cannot be lost. Therefore, I wish everyone can benefit from it and the learners of chorus command have a deeper exploration of the chorus works of ancient Chinese poetry.
