The 1849 "Sextet" with its virtuosic violin parts and plentiful use of Polish folk motif. Elsner's "Septet", from 1830, is quite unusual in that the piano is not used as a solo instrument - it often seems to be merely another part of the bass line although it is liberated somewhat in the slow movement (unusual particularly since Elsner is often credited with being Chopin's teacher!).
