This recording was prepared from manuscript and there is no record of the work having been performed at least in the 20th century. The work is designed as a series of secco recitatives and arias with two duets and the "characters" are personifications of virtuous and sinful qualities in the soul of Poland's patron saint, Casimir. The style of baroque opera predominates, with the profane "characters", as often, getting the fast, exciting and colorful parts.
